Our Programs

PRE-REGISTER TODAY

Southwest Learning Centers formulates our curriculum based on Teaching Strategies: Gold. This curriculum allows us to assess without disrupting each child’s learning patterns, and to focus on strengths and weaknesses, to give your child a well-rounded learning experience.

We also participate in the Washington State Early Achievers Program which means you can expect the highest quality of care when your child is with us. Please review our chart below to find information specific to your child’s age and needs.

Infant Program

Age: 0-1 year


  • Developing trust with nurturing adults outside of home
  • Growing bodily awareness through new senses and good hygiene habits 
  • Engaging with stories
  • Creating art
  • Learning with music
  • Playing and making  friends
  • Exploring their quickly growing range of motor skills 

Toddler Program

Age: 13 months – 35 months


  • Practicing language skills 
  • Following curiosity, experimenting, and observing how things work 
  • Learning in a hands-on way
  • Socializing to create relationships, learn cooperation techniques, and share with others
  • Developing self-confidence and exploring personal interests 
  • Expressing inner ideas, needs, and thoughts as a foundation for healthy communication 
  • Creating stories and art to spark curiosity and creativity

Preschool & Kindergarten Program

Age: 3-5 years


  • Navigating a more structured curriculum and schedule 
  • Practicing cooperation through group activities
  • Fostering a sense of self, confidence, and independence 
  • Learning sympathy and how to help others
  • Interacting with many different types of learning to identify strengths 
  • Sharpening language skills
  • Understanding the importance of math and art

After School Program

Age: 5 – 12 years


  • Participating in activities to supplement their learning in school
  • Pondering the scientific explanations for the world around
  • Self-regulating their ability to listen, follow directions, and focus
  • Engaging with technology in a fun, safe, and informative way 
  • Taking on leadership opportunities to encourage personal responsibility, by being a line leader or helping keep the classroom clean by putting things away
  • Getting help on homework so you can enjoy more relaxed time together at home

Note: Children aged 1-3 years must attend at least 4 days per week. Children aged 3-12 years can attend 2-5 days per week. For infants enrolled by months rather than years, a 5-day schedule is required.
